Florida law requires that if you plan to homeschool your children you have two options.
Option One: Register with your local school district. This option will require that you complete an approved annual evaluation for each child. Florida law also requires you to make a portfolio and to have that portfolio “available for inspection by the superintendent or the superintendent’s agent, upon 15 days’ written notice.”
Option Two: Register with a private school, such as JMJ Academy. In this scenario you are responsible to JMJ Academy in meeting any state requirements, thus eliminating any relationship with your local school district. Most importantly, JMJ will help to nurture you in your Catholic homeschooling endeavor.
